Whether you're a young teen or a mature adult, anyone and everyone has suffered from acne from time to time. We get it! It's frustrating to wake up in the morning with a giant pimple on your nose that you're certain everyone is looking at.

Don't stress! Try one of these DIY acne masks and watch your pimples fade away. 

Baking Soda Mask

Ingredients:

1-2 teaspoons baking soda

2 teaspoons of honey

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions:

Mix ingredients in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Spread a thin layer on face, taking care to avoid the eyes and mouth. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water. 

How does it work?

Each ingredient has different benefits for acne. Baking soda has natural anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that can help reduce breakouts. Honey is antibacterial, which aids in acne prevention. The lemon juice  is highly acidic, which can break down oil and dead skin. 

Aloe Vera Mask

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon aloe vera gel

3-5 drops tea tree oil

3-5 drops lemongrass oil

Directions:

Mix ingredients in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Spread a thick layer on face, taking care to avoid the eyes and mouth. Leave on for up to 20 minutes and rinse with warm water. 

How does it work?

The aloe vera increases the blood flow to the skin and kills over harmful bacteria. Tea tree is anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial and may be a useful those with sensitivities to salicylic acid. Lemongrass is a natural toner, shrinking pores and firming skin. 

Charcoal Mask

Ingredients:

1 scoop activated charcoal

1 tablespoon aloe vera gel

5 drops of tea tree oil

Directions:

Mix ingredients in a bowl until it resembles a paste. Spread a thin layer on face, taking care to avoid the eyes and mouth. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse with warm water. 

How does it work?

Egg White Mask

Ingredients:

1 egg white

1 teaspoon lemon juice

3-5 drop tea tree oil

Directions:

Mix ingredients in a bowl. Spread a thin layer on face, taking care to avoid the eyes and mouth. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water. 

How does it work?

Egg white shrink large pores and kill acne-causing bacteria that can live on the surface of the skin.
